Spy Cam Scenario – An employee is stealing from me

Scenario

I think an employee is stealing from me, how can I assess the situation and gather evidence? I would like to be able to take the suspect to court if I wanted to, if I had them on camera how could I convict them? I would like to place the camera on the shop floor, so it has to be quite good quality as there are always people there.

Solution

This Sony Pinhole PIR Detector Camera is an ideal covert camera for recording the shop floor. It has a wide angle lens for 72 degrees of vision and records in colour. The crystal clear images allow you to use digital zoom with the amazing 540tvl quality, so if you do record someone stealing and couldn’t tell who, you can easily zoom in to figure out who the culprit is. There is also an integrated microphone for audio recording, so you can listen to any conversations – this could stand as evidence in court too. You would have to buy it with the 4 Channel DVR 500 which allows up to 4 cameras to be connected at any one time. And most importantly the 500GB hard drive provides weeks of recording capacity.

Spy Cam Scenario – Keeping my house safe

Scenario:

There have been several burglaries and crime in my neighbourhood recently and I would like to ensure my home is safe. I live in a three bed terraced house and would like both the front and the back of the house to be secure.

Solution:

We offer a complete 4 camera package that would be ideal for this situation. Each camera is about the size of little french beer bottles and they have great day and night vision, so you can see any intruders even if it’s in the middle of the night.

We would recommend you mount them up near your roof line and run the 4 10m cables across your attic to the recorder. So you can have one at the front and one at the back of your house (perhaps your back door) and then another two where you think works best.Having the DVR in the attic also means it’s safe from burglars. The best thing about this package is the LAN connection as you only need to run 1 cable to your router.

The camera’s have enough space to record for 1 week and with motion detection you can set it to only record when there is movement.  You can also schedule it to come on at any time – so perhaps during the night. You can watch the CCTV through any PC computer in the house (or even from work, or on your phone) so there is no need to keep running up those stairs!

And if all this sounds too much for you then we can do the whole internet set up for you!

This week’s CCTV news

Industrial estate blaze: CCTV cameras had been switched off

This is a brilliant example as to why you should have security for your businesses.
A SUSPECTED arson attack happened near an industrial estate just two months after businesses voted to switch off CCTV cameras.
The security system covered eight industrial estates in Bolton and it was scrapped in November. A fairground trailer full of dodgems worth £60,000 was set alight in Mill Street at 6.30pm on Thursday — in view of the non-working cameras.

The Carmarthenshire Community Safety Partnership has funded the camera, costing almost £10,000, following a request from the police and the town council.
It is hoped it will help in the fight against crime and anti-social behaviour, as well as provide reassurance for residents.
