Full Description
This high specification 4 channel Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is packed with features. It serves as a flexible platform for CCTV cameras, covert hidden camera systems and other surveillance cameras.
This is a very capable DVR CCTV recorder for use in smaller venues like pubs and home installs or offices and places of work as a covert surveillance system. Due to the volume we sell this product in, it is available to all, including the home user at a competitive price.
It can record for over 7000 hours* and offers blazing 100 frames-per-second (FPS) recording with up to 25 FPS per camera meaning you get fluid video recording, not a slideshow seen on most CCTV footage. All of this, plus 4 channels audio - a combo only ever seen on recorders twice the price! This also makes this unit perfect for covert monitoring where a direct line of sight isn't always possible or where conversation monitoring is needed.
This DVR is easy to set-up through a standard TV, HDTV by using the main BNC output on the back of the recorder with a BNC adaptor (which we also sell) or computer monitor via the VGA output.
This product includes advanced networking support which allows the DVR to be accessed across the internet when connected to a hub/router, from any computer in the world with an internet connection or mobile/PDA equipped with WAP/3G. Accessing the DVR remotely provides you with a live feed from each camera, full control over Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cams, alarm info, footage playback and more just like having the system in front of you. Additionally all footage can be downloaded over the internet to a PC for archiving and backup.
A comprehensive logging system is used to time and date-stamp all events and footage, making searching for video evidence straight-forward. Footage can be backed up directly to a USB Stick or USB Hard Drive.
The unit can also be programmed to record far more intelligently to conserve hard drive space. For example, it can be scheduled to record only at certain times. This is accomplished with the use of a straight-forward calendar interface where each day can have up to 2 periods per day marked as times that the system should record. The DVR can also be programmed to only record when it detects motion. This can be tweaked with the use of the "Zoning" feature where the camera's view is split into a grid and each section can then marked as a motion sensitive zone (useful to stop the camera recording unnecessarily e.g.: when a tree blows in the wind or a car drives past). The sensor triggered mode is very versatile as a broad variety of triggers can be used to start a recording. For example, it can be wired into existing systems such as the detectors in a burglar house alarm to only record when it is set-off.
All of the event triggered recording modes can use something called "Pre and Post Record". This is where the DVR continuously records the last few seconds elapsed from each camera like a buffer. When an event is triggered (e.g. video is lost on a camera) the previous few seconds are automatically added to the start of the recording so you can get a good look at who has played havoc with your CCTV cameras or set off an alarm for example. When a recording then ends the next few seconds are also added to the end of the recording.
