Great product and super service from very knowledgable phone advisors. We bought this and an extra camera several months ago and are now glued to our TV watching the 7 just-hatched blue tit chicks in our box. Fingers crossed that the house martins will decide to nest where the other camera is set up! Great value products and easy to install - the videos were really helpful too, particularly on how to change channel to avoid wifi interference.

I bought this as a birthday present for my Nan. Due to her age and recent illness she doesn't get outside like she used to. She loves watching the birds in her garden, particularly one robin who she's become quite attached to. She was thrilled with this gift and can't wait to get it set up and hopefully get her robin nesting!

The camera arrived very quickly after it was ordered. Unfortunately tnere was fault and I contacted the help line who were very helful in trying unsuccessfully to help me correct the problem. Unfortnately it was not possible, and they requested that I should return it and very quickly e mailed me a stamped addressed adhesive label. I received acknowledgement of its arrival in Bristol, received a report by e mail in two days that it was faulty and a replacement arrived within a week. This is working very well.
An example of a courteous, helpful customer-orientated company who I would thoroughly recommend

I received the bird box camera, which is very small but sturdily made. Installing it in my bird box required me to unscrew the mounting bracket from the camera - the screws are very tiny so be careful not to lose them - as the body of the camera obstructs the mounting screw hole in the bracket.. As I was fixing the bracket to the side wall of my bird box, I also had to partially disassemble the box to allow my screwdriver to reach both the mounting screw on the bracket and the fixing screws which secured it to the camera. This would not have been necessary if I had been mounting the camera on the underside of the hinged box roof though.

Having fixed my bracket to the inside of the box and reattached the camera ot the bracket, the set-up was very easy. I plugged in both the camera and the wireless receiver and they immediately connected and began transmitting pictures. I had some minor video interference before I realised that my home wifi was using the same 2.4GHz channel as the camera. I switched my wifi router to a different channel and the interference was immediately resolved.

The receiver is situated indoors about 10 metres from the bird box and reception is very clear. The USB converter works fine and although I could not use the provided Windows software, the Mac software which the company provided a link to is working fine (although it does not have motion detection or timer recording functions). The picture is good and the low light IR LEDs work well at night. A bird box with light windows is definitely required for normal colour viewing, as with just the entrance hole the camera would permanently be working in black and white IR mode.

All in all, a quality product. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Would definitely recommend and it combines well with the bird boxes from www.handykam.com, who have great boxes specfically designed to accommodate cameras but whose cameras are decidedly more expensive than the SpyCameraCCTV offering.

I wanted to leave more positive feedback.
We installed camera three weeks ago (November) into an empty box, and when we switched on, to our amazement, found that a bluetit was roosting in the box. She comes in at about 4.15pm each evening and leaves at about 7.15am. She has us absolutely fascinated as we watch her settle down for the night, fluffing up her feathers and tucking her head under her wing to sleep.
Thank you for such a magical experience.

I have been very pleased with the service i have received from SpyCameraCCTV. The cameras i ordered came within the agreed time frame and they are great little cameras. I got them for security but they have come with a wonderful side-effect. I am intolerant to bright light and on bright days often have to have curtains closed and so could feel rather claustrophobic. Now i get to see outside, all be it on a little TV, even on the brightest days and this has really boosted my quality of life, I can now look forward to rather than dread bright sunny days.

I would recommend SpyCameraCCTV and use them again, thank you so much.

received camera last week and have now got system up and running with re-chargeable battery clipped under birdbox, works great. I thought that I may have disturbed the birds that were previously coming into the original box (even though it is now oct.21st and they are still coming into the box),but after one day of putting the new box up they are back in! This is better than watching crappy telly! Thanks

Good reception at 5mtrs thro`a cavity wall.As with the old camera this replaced, the picture lacks colour because
the box interior is so dark that the LED`s are permanently on.I have made a small window hoping this will give more light and a colour picture next spring and that the Blue Tits will appreciate their room with a view.

Great company to do business with, very helpful support and prompt delivery.
I started with one of these cameras, had some problems with interference but persevered (the worst was a huge WiFi burst from our Wii on standby!) and got decent results after much fiddling with aerial and transmitter positioning.
Then I wanted another so I could spy on the binmen abusing the bins , and was able to specify a camera on a different channel.
Unfortunately despite each channel on this camera system taking up a quarter of the entire 2.4GHz band, adjacent camera channels (in my case 1

The good points:
The camera is very small, the build quality is good, set-up is easy (just turn it on and set the receiver to the right channel), the lens angle is very wide to ensure as much as possible of the box interior is captured, it's easy to adjust the focus, the infra-red lights provide excellent night-time illumination.
The weaknesses:
The effective transmission range is quite short, particularly through any sort of structure. Best to site your receiver near a door or window facing the garden if possible.
Analogue signal can be subject to interference. Sounds has a lot of static noise. Play around with the antennae directions on the camera and receiver to get the best picture. I have it installed in a hedgehog feeding station and the hedgehogs moving too close to the camera can produce interference!
Bluetooth devices and wifi routers can interfere with the signal as they use the same 2.4GHz band. I resolved the wifi problem by changing my router to a different channel (as the camera's channel is fixed) but I've had to stop using my bluetooth mouse and keyboard with my computer, as they interferes with the receiver, and swap them for USB ones. A digital camera would overcome this problem but at a greater cost.
Overall: a great camera for the price. Good picture. Some limitations, particularly with the wireless quality, but in a device at this price point that's only to be expected.

I bought the camera just under a year ago for my dad who loves birdwatching. He has had hours of enjoyment with the family of finches. Sadly the camera just stopped working. But I contacted spycameracctv and they were most helpful. Arranged for a return and upon inspection provided a replacement camera within a week. This would be a 5 star if not for the fault which was quickly resolved.

An excellent product that works well out of the box. It is now keeping track of an Eastern Rosella (Australia) which has laid 3 eggs.

My main reservation is about fixing the camera to the inside of the box. I found the camera and cable got in the way of putting the screw into the supporting bracket. I got round this but it was rather fiddly. Otherwise, its been very good.

Tested the camera in the front room and picture was fine, but when I put it in a bird box 8M from my house the picture was awful fuzzy and rolling and blacking out.
This camera needs a longer aerial that can be external to the bird box, or a bird box made of cardboard.
Oh the delivery was fine arrived in one piece in good time.

As we had put up a bird box in our garden, I purchased a bird box camera as a wee surprise for my wife. We initially had some teething problems with the reception that was down to router/wireless interference. A quick email with very explicit but simple instructions on how to change the channel and problem solved. We are now watching a 'coal tit' building a nest in the box and hoping for little ones in due course.
A great little camera, great service and well worth the money.

So after reading the reviews I thought I would buy one of these setups to try in my bird box, well the reception is not that great, a lot of interference. I did contact tech support but we tried everything, switching channels, new channel on my router but it was always poor reception and I am not talking about 50 meters away. probably 15 meters at most and only having to go through one wall. In the end I had to repositon the reciever so that it is abut 10 meters from camera and the signal only has to penatrate through a pair of french doors, now it works ok.

An amazing view of the bird box I have it in, I have brought nest boxes with camera's already in there and have a really bad view so if the cameras brake I'll replace it with these. If I were you I would buy a nest box with out a camera which you can get for around £3 and then add one of these camera's to it. The only problem with the package is that you have to buy an adapter for it to work on laptops or computers (which they don't supply in the pack) and the adapter on this website is £29.99 at the moment which makes it really expensive so I went elsewhere to get the adapter and got it really cheap and worked fine but just waiting for the birds to take the box and it will be amazing!!!!!

I bought a bird-box camera from SpyCameraCCTV. The camera is excellent, but the best part is that ALL the bits of cable and cable connectors were included. I am not the most technically-minded person, but I found the instructions enclosed were excellent and very easy to understand. I even managed to set it up without having to consult my wife !!
The second-best bit was using DPD to deliver the goods. Their web-site is also excellent, promising to deliver in one-hour time slots- which they did. SpyCameraCCTV will be my first stop if I need any other similar goods.

We have two bird boxes under the eaves of our detached garage which have been used by blue tits in past years. We decided to fix up one of these cameras in one box ready for this spring. Could not have been easier. Ordered Sunday, shipped Monday, arrived Tuesday and fitted Wednesday - worked fine straight away, great service from Spycamera !
Now we are waiting for the arrival of our feathered fiends to watch what's going on inside, rather than just seeing the comings and goings and hearing the tweets from out of the box.
Picture on our TV is perfect, even saw an ant crawling across the bottom of the empty box - all we need now is the blue tits to arrive!

I bought this camera in July 2011 and have waited to see how it performs before posting a review. Initially I had a problem because I had not realised that the wireless wave length from the camera to the receiver was the same as bluetooth which I use (on a Mac) to link my mouse and keyboard (2.4GHz). Eventually I found a position outside of the house to site the receiver away from the computer bluetooth range and bought a length of cable to bring the connection into the house. I was fortunate to already have software for use on a Mac (SecuritySpy) which, with the acquisition of a gismo from the US (XtraView USB) now allows me to see my box and to set it to trigger an alarm and start recording when I get movement or sound. The communication with the sales team after purchase was excellent and depending on how successful this goes in the spring I am considering buying a second camera. Best of all almost from day 1 I have had a Great Tit roosting in the box every night over the winter and have just had two Blue Tits checking the box for possible nesting.

My wife and I have had birds nesting in our Bird Box's every year for the past 3 years. Until now we've never been able to see inside, just watching them go in and out to feed the chicks. I'd heard of these cameras before but thought they would be expensive and was expensive and was so pleased to find them for under £50. It was easy to set up and I just screwed the camera inside the box and put the receiver in the window and we get a crystal clear picture. The birds have been hanging around again so we are confident they will nest again this year.

Full Description This makes a great gift for friends, family and colleagues of all ages.

Perfect for covert surveillance or as a bird box camera or nest box cam. This tiny pinhole camera can be hidden anywhere and will wirelessly transmit the video with audio to the receiver which can be placed up to 50 metres away. The receiver can be connected to a TV, VCR, DVR or PC/Laptop*. All the leads are of course supplied.

SpyCameraCCTV are currently supplying bird box cameras to Sparrowhawk Island.
Click here to see live footage of sparrow hawks and other British birds and wildlife.

This wireless spy camera has focus from just a few inches to up to around 10 meters, enabling you to get the best pictures no matter how far the object is away from the lens. The wider angle 2.8mm lens gives you extra width when viewing inside a bird-box (many companies supply 6mm as standard). This means you can usually see the entrance hole and the bottom of the bird box giving the best view.

You can run this camera from our re-chargeable Li-on batteries available in the drop down menu above which will power the camera for up to 30 hours (depending on which you select) or the supplied mains power supply adaptor. We recommend power adapters for viewing 24/7.

It's very small, perfect for hiding and fits perfectly in a bird box or other animal box, hive, den or hole. The 6 LEDs are just right for seeing in a small space and not too powerful to burn themselves out or disturb the birds. We have had customers use this tiny cam system for watching owls, buzzards, tiny birds even used by professionals as a bird breeding cam across multiple box units. Although for bigger nests, some have chosen our slightly larger 11 or 30 LED products. If you are a professional breeder, give us a call as we have built many aviary systems for customers.

The camera itself is only 42x35x35mm and screws neatly to a wall or into a bird box. For businesses, this device can serve to monitor operations in offices, shops or warehouses. Great as an affordable hidden security CCTV system.

This product is available in 1 of 4 channels available, so if you wish to expand your wireless system in the future, you can add a further 3 cameras. One for your bird table, front of the bird box or other location.

SpyCameraCCTV will include a link to some free software which, if you connect the camera to a PC, will be able to record to your hard drive, and broadcast over the internet for remote viewing anywhere in the world with an internet connection. The program also has motion detection software so you just record the bits you want to without chewing up huge amounts of memory. If you do not have AV connectors on your PC you can buy a USB adapter from our recommended products on the right of this page.

The beauty of this kit is that EVERYTHING is here, protect your child, premises or just see what is going on by installing this quality surveillance equipment. For such a little outlay you can protect so much!

The built in transmitter has a range of up to 50m, dependent on obstacles (this is significantly reduced when going though obstructions). The tiny, hidden day and night camera has a high resolution of 380TV lines from its CMOS imaging chip set and can be run off an 8V DC power adapter (supplied).

* Please make sure you have a video input on your PC/Laptop

SpyCameraCCTV manufacture security cam systems. This fantastic mini hidden camera with infra-red is perfect for use as a bird box camera system or to video any wildlife at close range.
