Something special we’re working on for holiday season 2014

Ok, ok, ok, we know nobody likes it when retailers start carping on about Christmas before the nights have even started drawing in, but prep starts early for us, and we just couldn’t resist letting you in with a sneak peak on a little project we’ve been working on for holiday season 2014. In amongst the usual panic and scramble to make sure the warehouse shelves are nice and full for the present rush, we have also been trying to tweak a few items to make sure you guys have the best possible gifts to give.

Wireless Bird Box Camera with Night Vision - Perfect for your Garden
Our wireless bird box camera kit is always a popular gift option

Every year, by far our most popular item is our wireless bird box camera, an easy to set up camera that lets you keep an eye inside a bird nesting box as chicks hatch from their eggs and grow. Because of it’s massive popularity, we have left this kit largely unchanged over the last couple of years. This year however we decided it was time to up the game a little bit, and went back to the drawing board to redesign the insides of the camera. As a result, the camera now has a brand new imaging chip, helping greatly improve the sharpness and clarity of your image. Technically speaking, the jump is from 380TV Lines to 700TV Lines. The previous model was designed for it’s small size, so there was a slight limitation on the absolute resolution of the image. Newer sensor technology however, now means we can greatly improve the image quality without sacrificing camera size. And what’s more, we have added this improved imaging quality for no extra cost to you!

For comparison, here’s what the standard camera looks like when trained on a standard target of a toy dinosaur in a plant pot:

Aside from this, the camera works in exactly the same way- simply install it in the top of your bird box, and make sure it is connected to a power supply. Then you can set up the receiver- ideally in a direct line of sight- inside your home, and connect it to your TV for live video from inside the bird box. Connecting it to a recorder will then allow you to capture clips to play back later, with a motion detection mode ensuring you don’t miss out on any activity.

Our new and improved cameras are currently being tested on selected orders, and will (fingers crossed) be rolled out across all of our wireless bird box camera listings in the coming months- stay posted for updates!
