Standard CCTV DVRs
At the heart of every modern security system lies a CCTV DVR, responsible for recording and processing feeds from each surveillance camera. When putting together a security system it can be all too easy to spend days choosing the correct cameras, and then compromise their performance by adding a recorder of sub-standard quality. Because of this we sell packages for use in a wide variety of applications from home security equipment to professional surveillance equipment from Hikvision and Gamut. Each recorder we sell can also be used with a spy camera for applications where discovery of the security system is not desired.
The pricing of a home CCTV DVR is decided by a few main features. The number of frames per second (fps) the DVR is rated for describes how smooth the footage will appear when played back. For example, a 4 channel standalone DVR that has a maximum capacity of 100 fps will be able to allocate 25 fps per camera connected. Another factor to consider when purchasing a DVR is the compression technology used, that is how efficient the recorder is at fitting as much footage as possible onto the Hard Drive. Most standard recorders will offer H.264 compression.
